How to lose weight in winters

Many of us quite wonder of why we tend to gain weight during winters. Well it all happens
that during winters in order to keep the body warm by producing heat temperatures the basal
metabolism of the body increases, which causes us to get hungry faster, thereby consuming
more food than normal.


Losing weight in winter is more difficult in winters, as compared to that in summer’s duet to
several factors like – lack of physical activities as we tend to stay indoors and stationary,
layers of warm clothes does not really makes us notice the extra pounds that we start putting
on and in winters our basal metabolic rate increases.


It is a fact that during winters we get to eat a lot of healthy and nutritious foods that is
particular to the season. With an array of fresh vegetables and fruits available during the cold
months it’s quite easier to lose weight during the winters.


Noted below are a few tips that will certainly help us lose and maintain weight during winter:
- Watch your calorie intake: in order to lose weight you need not have to sacrifice on
your favorite foods, perhaps you can use them as your weapon for weight loss. The
only thing you need to keep notice of, is your calorie intakes. At the same time do not
cut down too much on the calories as lower calories means lower metabolism and
lower metabolism will lead to slower weight loss.


- Watch what you eat: winters are the months of festivities and parties. It is advisable to
eat smaller portions by eating in a smaller plate. Also, before going for a dinner,
munch on some high fiber vegetables or fruits like carrots or apples to fill up and curb
the desire to have high caloric foods in an empty stomach.


- Do not stop your physical activities: during the cold months it’s very common to feel
lazy and cozy. Do not let the cold hold you back from your normal routines of
exercise or any sort of physical activities that you have been regularly following. The
key to a healthy weight loss during winters is by staying active and moving.
