Therefore, eating the right type of foods can help you to reduce blood sugar from rising high.To follow the best healthy diet for diabetes, first,you must understand how various types of foods affect the level of your blood sugar.

   Starches:
1-Whole grains starches, such as oatmeal,brown rice, millet, amaranth, or quinoa
2-Items cooked with whole grains without any added sugar
3-Baked or boiled sweet potato
     Protein:
1-Plant-based proteins likeseeds, nuts,beans, or tofu
2-EggsFish and seafood
3-Chicken and other poultry meat
4- Low-fat dairy product
     Fats:
1-Natural sources of vegetable fats like avocados, nuts, or seeds
2-Plant-based oils, such as grapeseed, olive oils, or canola
3-Animal foods with omega-3 fatty acids, such as tuna, mackerel, or salmon
     Fruits:
1-Fresh fruit
2-Low-sugar or sugar-free fruit juices or jam

4-No artificial sweetener
     Vegetables:
1-Fresh and non-starchy green veggies, such as green leafy, cauliflower,kale,broccoli,spinach, carrots, asparagus, and arugula
2These vegetables can be eaten raw, frozen, roasted, grilled, or lightly steamed
3-Canned unsalted veggies or low-sodium ones
     Dairy:
4-Low-fat yogurt
2-Skimmed milk or milk with 1% fat
3-Non-fat or low-fat sour cream
4-Low-fat cottage cheese
     Drinks:
1-Plain, flavored, or unflavored sparkling water
2-Unsweetened tea without milk but with a slice of lemon
3-Light beer, non-fruity mixed drinks without sugar, little quantity of wine
3-Coffee, black or with added sugar substitute and low-fat milk
